The UICCA, the German Embassy in the UAE, and the Climate Talks Initiative, have co-hosted a policy hack titled Empowering SMEs to Drive Supply Chain Decarbonisation in Heavy Industry, as part of the ongoing UICCA Policy Hacks. The event convened policymakers, industry experts, and SME leaders to develop actionable strategies for decarbonising supply chains within the industrial sector, particularly heavy industry supply chains.

UICCA Launchpad Programme start-ups and SMEs present carbon reduction technologies ahead of COP29
On 7 November 2024, UICCA’s Carbon Solutions Launchpad featured eight startups from a pool of over 70 applicants. The event highlighted innovative carbon reduction technologies, including carbon capture and hydrogen fuel cells, presented to investors and industry leaders, concluding the three-month mentorship programme.

At the Grand Finale, attended by Her Highness Sheikha Shamma bint Sultan bin Khalifa Al Nahyan, three projects were recognised: "RenewComm," a community-led wind energy initiative; "Trash to Treasure," utilising agricultural waste to enhance food security; and "AquaPalm," transforming date palm waste into sustainable water purification solutions. The winning projects were featured on The Climate Tribe platform as part of UICCA’s commitment to fostering inclusive climate action.
