Research Associate
Job Purpose
The Research Associate conducts comprehensive research and quantitative and qualitative analysis on the field of climate change and sustainability. The thematic topics will include sectoral decarbonization, carbon markets, circular economy, sustainable finance, and climate policies among others. Synthesizing information and drafting high-quality written material are essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct research and analysis on priority thematic topics, particularly related to the MENA region.
- Draft and develop high-quality content (e.g., reports, blogs, and other publications) that dives deep into priority thematic topics, as well as overall green and sustainability trends.
- Work with the marketing and communications team to publicize work being done on sustainability in the MENA region.
- Provide ad-hoc support to the team, as needed (e.g., proposal preparation, due diligence work on potential partners, preparation of workshops/seminars).
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Master’s Degree or current Ph.D. candidate from a program in Environmental Policy, Environmental Preferably 2-3 years of experience in the field of climate change and environmental policy with experience working in a research institution.
- Strong research, analytical, and writing skills.
- Detail oriented.
- Ability to quickly adapt and learn new topics.
- Public speaking skills and ability to moderate panel discussions.
- Fluent in English (both written and verbal).
