Language and dialogue play an essential role in our collective climate action journey, helping to tell powerful stories and sustain engagement on this critical issue. At UAE Independent Climate Change Accelerators (UICCA), our subject matter experts have developed the 'Arabic Climate Change Glossary' to bridge gaps and facilitate collaboration across language barriers.
The issues which fall under the umbrella of climate change are vast and can often be highly complex; through knowledge sharing, our objectives are to support in translating these complex topics to make them available to broad audiences, to demystify the science and articulate definitions that may be lost in translation. To drive inclusivity, our Glossary is a tool to enable a diversity-driven dialogue.
This document will be continually updated as the best practice around this topic evolves, and through close collaboration with our Arabic-speaking audiences, we will continually enhance and improve definitions as necessary.
