About UICCA
By 2050, the UAE is expected to be four degrees Celsius warmer than it is today. This is above the 1.5-degree threshold set out by climate experts and twice the global average rate of warming.
As the tangible impact of climate change and its effects began to escalate, the UAE committed to an ambitious Net Zero target and strategy in 2021. Significant headway has been made, but achieving the 2050 goal requires the public sector, businesses, and civil society in the UAE to fundamentally transform, embrace sustainability and transition to a green economy: one that is low-carbon, resource efficient and socially inclusive.
